Parma man hospitalized after being hit by a truck on the Connector

Douglas Bennett, 37, of Parma, was seriously injured late Monday afternoon when a semi-truck hit him on the inbound I-184 Connector. Idaho State Police say Bennett stepped out onto the busy roadway.

The semi, driven by Christopher Britton, 47, of Boise, swerved but was unable to avoid hitting Bennett about 4:30 p.m., the ISP reports.

Two other vehicles collided about the same time on the eastbound Connector, apparently trying to avoid the first accident. None of the vehicles' occupants was injured, ISP reports.

Bennett was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was still in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, according to St. Alphonsus spokeseperson Joshua Schlaich.

Two lanes of the Connector were closed for about an hour, ISP reports.
