Boisean faces charges after witnesses report erratic driving

A Boise man faces several charges after police got reports of a reckless driver on Sunday evening.

Byron D. Parsonage, 49, is charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting or obstructing officers, all misdemeanors.

Boise Police say they were flagged down by witness who said a reckless driver was in a shopping center parking lot in the 8300 block of West Overland Road at 8:25 p.m. Sunday.

They told police they'd seen a vehicle driving recklessly on eastbound Interstate 84. They also said the car sped through the parking lot, drove on the curb, and crashed into two unoccupied parked cars.

Police saw the vehicle leaving the parking lot, headed north on Maple Grove Road. Police found the car in a field at West Fairview Avenue and North Kimball Street. The suspect was outside his vehicle and attempted to runaway, police said, but was apprehended . He was taken to Ada County jail.
