Coroner: No foul play in death of man found in Boise parking lot

A 49-year-old man who died after being found badly injured in a Southeast Boise parking lot in May was not the victim of foul play, according to the Ada County Coroner’s Office.

Chris Babcock died of blunt force truma to his head as the result of an accidental fall, Coroner Dotti Owens said Tuesday. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the accident, Owens said.

Babcock was found at about 8 a.m. May 9 in the parking lot of the Flying J truck stop. He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where he died May 13.

Babcock reportedly was from the Boise area but had no permanent address.

At the time of Babcock’s death, police said they were investigating and not aware of any public safety threat connected to the case.
