A 36-year-old Wilderness Ranch resident died Monday morning after his pickup truck went off a road and down a mountainside in the area, hitting a tree, Boise County officials report.
Steven Williams died of head and chest trauma, Boise County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Johnson said Monday evening. Williams was wearing a seat belt, he said, and alcohol was not a contributing factor to the crash.
A witness called the 911 about 10:25 a.m. Monday and reported the crash, the Boise County Sheriff's Office reports. The driver was dead when emergency responders arrived.
The vehicle had been traveling east on Rush Creek Road below Antler Run Road when it left the roadway, the sheriff's office reports.
