A blaze that burned about 5 acres near Lucky Peak Dam on Highway 21, was contained by 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Carrie Bilbao, spokesperson for the Bureau of Land Management.
Seven engines, two helicopters, one bulldozer and one water tender responded to the fire burning near mile marker 13. Ada County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived on scene to assist with traffic, Bilbao said.
A nearby structure was almost threatened, but the bulldozer quickly established a line, so no damage was done, she said.
The fire was contained ahead of schedule — crews originally expected containment to be around 9:30 p.m., she said.
