The Ada County Juvenile Probation Meridian office, 124 W. Franklin Road, will close beginning July 8 while a new facility is constructed in its place, according to an Ada County news release Tuesday.
The office will temporarily relocate to the primary Ada County Juvenile Probation office at 400 N. Benjamin Lane, Boise.
Demolition of the existing, prefabricated building and construction of a new facility will extend into next year, with the new building expected to be complete in the spring of 2016. In the meantime, the 11 Juvenile Probation staff based there will continue to serve about 245 juveniles and their families from the Boise location.
“Having a Meridian office makes it easier for clients and their families to meet with their probation officer, since it’s often closer to where they live or work,” said Ada County Juvenile Court Services Director Jan Wallace. “With the Meridian area continuing to experience a lot of growth, we’re looking forward to having an updated and larger facility there to better serve that population.”

The replacement structure will provide more office space, meeting space and group rooms and is expected to be more energy-efficient and support the department's technology needs.
The last day of business at the Meridian location will be July 7. Details about an opening date for the new facility will be announced as construction wraps up next spring.
