Correction: The original version of this story had the incorrect vehicle swerving into the oncoming lane.
A man was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a head-on collision with a commercial truck.
Witnesses told Boise Police that an SUV was headed west just after 9 a.m. when it veered into the oncoming lane at West Gowen Road and South Zeppelin Street and collided head-on with a commercial truck. The SUV, driven by a 54-year-old man with a 5-year-old passenger, flipped and landed on its roof, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department.
Boise Police, Boise Fire Department and Ada County Emergency Medical Services extricated the driver from the SUV. The SUV’s driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to Boise Police. The driver of the commercial truck and the 5-year-old, who was in a carseat, were not seriously hurt.
