Memorial service set Friday for BLM firefighter who died after training exercise.

Services for Terry Sonner, a Hammett-based BLM firefighter who died June 10 after he and his crew finished physical training, will be held Friday afternoon in Buhl.

The event will be held at the Seventh Street Gym, 215 7th Ave. N., Buhl. Doors open at 1:45 p.m. and services begin at 2 p.m.

Sonner, 33, was a wildland firefighter for 14 years and served as fire operations supervisor of the Hammett Guard Station engine crew for Boise District BLM. A firefighter procession of official wildland and structure-fire apparatus is planned after the service, leading the Sonner family through Buhl to a reception.
