A body was spotted in a Boise canal shortly before 10 p.m. Friday night, and police are trying to determine what happened.
Police identified the body of the man and determined his death was not due to foul play. They did not release the age of the man or his identity as of 3 p.m. Saturday.
At 9:52 p.m., a citizen walking along the canal beneath the railroad trestle at Mesa Vista Drive near Federal Way reported seeing a body at the bottom of the canal, Ada dispatch and Boise police said.
The Boise Dive Team and Boise police responded to the scene and shortly before 11 p.m. Boise police reported a body had been recovered.
Ada County Coroner will release the identity of the man and his cause of death, police said.
