Fundraiser for Idaho City business owner who lost his cafe to fire

Idaho City residents are looking to patch up their community after a fire wiped out a block on Main Street Friday.

At least one GoFundMe page was posted for Jim Barrett who ran Calamity Jayne's, a cafe that welcomed tourists and locals for decades. The fire wiped out the cafe, which was Barrett's livelihood.

The page, Help Jim, was started by one of Barrett's employees Ashley Elliott.

"Jim has helped our community from every aspect. Gift certificates for fundraisers, money to the school, supporting any event that passes through our little town, Jim has gone above and beyond. Now he needs our help," she wrote on the page.

By Sunday night the page raised $3,625 of its $5,000 goal.

It's still unknown whether the block will be rebuilt or what caused the fire.
