ISP releases names of Mountain Home juveniles killed in weekend crash

David Ivarra Martinez, 13, and 12-year-old Arath I. Hernandez of Mountain Home died at the scene after the car they were riding in rolled on West Frontage Road south of Interstate 84 Friday, Idaho State police reported Monday.

The driver of the car, 15-year-old Veronica Verele, and 12-year-old passenger Jesse Rodriguez were injured and taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Both remained in the hospital Monday, ISP reports, but no information about their injuries or condition was available.

The blue Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling westbound on the frontage road in Mountain Home about 6:45 p.m. Friday when Verele lost control of the vehicle, which rolled. All four occupants were ejected.

None of the juveniles were wearing seat belts, Idaho State Police report. Information about whether excessive speed or alcohol might have been involved was not available Monday, but the investigation is continuing, ISP reports.
