A 45-year-old California man died Tuesday morning after he lost control of his car on U.S. 95 south of Parma and ran into some trees, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office reports.
Clint Walker was headed south on the highway, attempting to pass another vehicle, when he saw a northbound vehicle headed toward him and veered back into the southbound lane about 10 a.m., witnesses told investigators. Walker then lost control of his Ford Mustang, which went off the shoulder, struck trees and overturned, witnesses said.
Walker, who was wearing a seat belt, was dead when emergency crews arrived, county spokesman Joe Decker said. The county coroner determined he died of blunt-force trauma.
The crash closed that portion of U.S. 95 for a couple of hours while deputies investigated.
