Second man arrested in connection with triple stabbing in Canyon County

An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with the stabbing of three people at a Canyon County residence over the weekend. The names of the victims and their conditions have not been released.

Armondo Jose Leon of Nampa was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, according to a release from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office. He will be charged with three counts of aggravated battery.

Leon was the second person of interest in the case, and investigators say there are no others they are looking for.

Sheriff’s deputies apprehended Leon with assistance from the Nampa police and the Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force.

On Sunday, deputies arrested 18-year-old Esiel Jesus Oseguera and booked him into the Canyon County Jail on suspicion of aggravated battery.

At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, emergency personnel were called to a residence in the 100 block of North Happy Valley Road. Police said the three stabbing victims were taken to a Boise hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators said they believe the suspects are known to the victims; it wasn’t a random act of violence. A firearm may have been discharged during a fight in the residence, police said.
