Teen injured while setting sprinkler pipe in Canyon County

A 15-year-old boy was standing on the back bumper of a pickup truck, holding on with both hands while a 16-year-old girl slowly backed the truck through the field.

The truck’s rear passenger tire hit a large rock, jolting the truck and causing the boy to lose his footing and fall about 9:30 a.m. in a field near the intersection of Joplin and Can-Ada roads..

The boy’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to a Canyon County Sheriff’s news release. He was conscious and breathing when emergency workers arrived, and he was transported by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
