Idaho Statesman reporter Rocky Barker received the Aldo Leopold Award for Distinguished Editorial Writing from the Wilderness Society Sept. 24, according to a report from Northland College.

The award tends to be given out to those who have written on important conservation issues.

“I am honored to receive the award that the Wilderness Society presented to my hero J. Robb Brady, late Post Register publisher, before me,” Barker said.
