A Boise man died Wednesday morning after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and into the Payette River.
At approximately 10:43 a.m., Idaho State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Idaho 55 about 3 miles south of the Banks/Lowman Highway junction.
Alex Bunch, 25, was driving a 2006 Kia Spectra northbound on Idaho 55 when he drove through the southbound lanes. The vehicle went off the side of the road and down an embankment before ultimately landing in the river. Bunch was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
