Grass fire outside Star spreads to 200 acres, threatens structure

About 200 acres burned Monday night after fire crews responded around 8:20 p.m. to a fire near the area of Idaho 16 and Grand Ridge Lane, just south of Firebird Raceway and north of the town of Star.

The grass fire — dubbed the Bugle Boy Fire — was 90 percent contained by 10:40 p.m., according to Nick Landry of the Eagle Fire Department. One structure was threatened but did not catch fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation on Tuesday afternoon.
