A fire on Saturday evening damaged an office building on Boise State University’s campus, according to Boise Fire Department spokeswoman Tammy Barry.

The fire was reported at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Manitou Avenue, with six BFD apparatus responding. Barry said smoke was coming from the building, a single-story office building that’s part of BSU’s robotics lab, when crews arrived.

Firefighters were able to control the fire within 15 minutes, Barry said, but the blaze damaged about 25 percent of the structure. It’s unclear what the cause of the fire was or whether the building is still usable.

An investigation is ongoing.
