Idaho construction employment fell nearly in half when the bubble burst in 2008, leaving a glut of unsold homes on the market. Construction jobs have climbed steadily since 2011 with increasing demand for new homes.

Boise Cascade, which sells lumber and other building materials, thinks demand will keep rising. In a presentation to shareholders, Boise Cascade pointed to the sheer number of millennials — already the largest generation in history — as a reason to expect rising demand for new homes across the country.
