Jacksons Food Stores, the Meridian-based convenience-store chain, has acquired Premium Oil Co. in Utah. The purchase includes 15 stores and a commercial real estate portfolio.
Jacksons has already begun to rebrand, remodel and expand the stores to its standard.
The company has added more than 1,000 employees in the past year and is expanding its home office at 3450 E. Commercial Court in Meridian. The addition will boost office space by 50 percent to 34,000 square feet.
Since John D. Jackson founded Jacksons in 1975 as a single service station, the Idaho company has grown to 228 company-operated stores in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and now Utah. Its sister company, Jackson Oil, wholesales branded fuel to 854 locations in nine Western states.
