St. Luke’s Health System’s hospitals and outpatient centers in the Treasure Valley — including two hospitals, in Boise and Meridian — generated about 1.5 times as much revenue as did Saint Alphonsus Health System’s four hospitals and many outpatient centers in the Valley, according to the systems’ reports on their latest fiscal years.
Together, the two nonprofits ended their 2014 fiscal years with a combined $90 million in net income.
Because both St. Luke’s and Saint Alphonsus are nonprofits, they keep net income, as there are no shareholders to distribute it to.
