Construction will not move forward as planned for hotels that were to be built near the Franklin Road exit in Caldwell.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reported in December that a Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn would open in late 2016 and late 2017 near Aviation Way and Muller Lane. The hotels were to be operated by BHG Hotels of Oregon.

But Mike Pena with Colliers International told the Statesman he has since received a letter from the hotelier’s attorney, saying the project would not move forward because it was not in their economic interest to proceed.

Property at Muller and Aviation is owned by Montecito Park LLC. Michael Huter, registered agent of Montecito Park and principal at Ridley Doorn and Co. accounting firm, did not immediately respond to a call from the Statesman.

The hotelier’s attorney and BHG Hotels also did not respond to messages from the Statesman.
