One of the world’s longest and possibly largest car washes, Rocket Express, is slated to open in Boise in December.
Rocket Express car wash is under construction at 12345 W. Fairview Ave.
At 240 feet long, the car wash will match in length the Rocket Express that co-owners Joe and Janet Russell also run in Twin Falls. That car wash, built in 2010, currently is the longest in the world, they said.
The car wash will have “a quarter of a million dollars of solar panels to produce power,” and reclaims most of its water, according to a news release.

“We have just recently submitted an application with the Guinness World Records organization to document that the conveyor, at 240 feet in length, is in fact the world’s longest,” said co-owner Joe Russell of Twin Falls. “I have also confirmed this past week, with Matt DeWolf, marketing director of the International Car Wash Association that he/they are not [aware] of another conveyor in the world that measures 240 feet,” aside from the one in Twin Falls.
Rocket Express LLC purchased the land in Boise June 1.
The Treasure Valley Rocket Express Car Wash will have two dedicated express lanes for wash club members and two additional lanes for other customers. The wash also will have 36 free vacuums.
The company also owns a Rocket Express car wash in Midvale, Utah. It opened in 2013.
“Future company growth is targeted for the Treasure Valley, as well as the Wasatch Front area of Utah,” the news release said. “Joe and Janet Russell are excited about Rocket Express’s expansion into the Treasure Valley and intend to relocate their home to the area.”
