The Boise-based company reported a 6 percent increase in sales compared to the same quarter in 2014 and a 36.7 percent increase in profits.
Boise Cascade makes and distributes wood and other building materials. CEO Tom Corrick said in a release that the company benefited from 4 percent increase in home starts compared to the same time in 2014.
“Forecasts for 2015 reflect further growth in U.S. housing starts, and we remain confident in our ability to take advantage of market opportunities,” Corrick said.
Compared to the same quarter in 2014, sales volume in building materials distribution increased 7 percent, partially offsetting a decrase in sales price of less than 1 percent, the release said.
