Another record year for Idaho liquor sales

Total liquor sales in Idaho went up 7.1 percent in fiscal 2013, bringing in $164.5 million. After all operating expenses, that left $59.8 million in net income, says Tony Faraca, chief financial officer for the Idaho State Liquor Division.

Profits were particularly high in areas near the Washington border such as Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene and Lewiston. That’s because Washington privatized its liquor stores, prices went up, and buyers went across the border, Faraca says.
