Grain Audio, a speaker and headphones company, has opened a store at the Boise Towne Square mall.
The Boise location is the first Grain Audio store in the country.
Grain Audio, based in New York, manufactures audio equipment including wireless Bluetooth-enabled speakers, headphones and shelf speaker systems. The company’s hallmark is the use of wood as a material in its equipment.
“Grain Audio is the brainchild of five friends with backgrounds in acoustics, design, architecture and marketing,” a news release said. “United by their love of music and their desire to hear it the way the artist intended, the Grain team channeled their collective experience in consumer electronics and design to fuel their passion to create premiere audio devices.”
Local store owner Jake Johnson said he was so enthusiastic about the product that he wanted to open a retail location for the company. He currently operates a kiosk on the upper level of the mall, between Starbucks and AT&T.
