A Meridian insurance agent, Valeria Willis, had her license revoked effective Monday for submitting two false service claims to Aflac, the Idaho Department of Insurance announced Wednesday.
This is the second time within a month that a Meridian Aflac insurance agent lost their license. Erik Astheimer lost his license and was ordered to pay a $38,000 fine after the state found he filed 19 false insurance claims with the company between December 2014 and June 2015.
The Department of Insurance says Willis filed two claims that she was paid for, but for which the service claimed was not provided. She must pay a penalty of $4,000, according to the agency’s news release.
“Idaho Code clearly outlines conduct which can lead to investigation and revocation of an agent’s license,” department Director Dean Cameron said in a statement. “Fraudulent behavior builds distrust within the industry and will not be tolerated.”
