Maggie, 10, is a harlequin Great Dane. She was surrendered by her family who hope to give her a better life with someone new. Maggie has been well taken care of; she appears physically and mentally younger than her actual age. Maggie’s family says that she is good with older children (younger kids frighten her ) and loves to go swimming and camping. Maggie has done well at the shelter with her kennel mate, but her owners say she prefers to be the only dog in a home. She is also not fond of cats. She knows basic commands. Maggie is leash-trained and house-trained. She has had a recent in-shelter senior blood work done and, according to the results, she is as healthy. Maggie is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $80
Maggie is in Dog Adoptions at the West Valley Humane Society at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays. For more on other adoptable pets, visit www.westvalleyhumanesociety.org
