Lady, 3, is a Great Pyrenees who was surrendered to the shelter with her companion, Izzie, due to no fault of their own. These dogs need to be in the hands of someone who understands the breed and what their function is. Izzie guarded livestock in his former home, which is the job these dogs do. We always recommend doing your research prior to adoption to make sure a dog fits your lifestyle. Lady is going to need a securely fenced yard or acreage so that she can run. She is mellow, but does need her exercise. She does dig under fences, so make sure your fence is reinforced at the bottom. These dogs are smart and strong willed, yet affectionate. Their coats will need occasional brushing. She is good with other dogs, cats, and poultry. Come on in and meet Lady and Izzie and see what wonderful dogs they are. Bring all family members in, including other dogs in the home, and our staff will test for compatibility. Lady is up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed. She is all set to go home.
Lady resides in Dog Adoptions at the West Valley Humane Society located at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
