Treasure Valley gardening events include fairy garden workshop for kids and adults

Fairy Garden Adult/Child Workshop: 10 a.m. at Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise. Adult/child pairs will work together to create a single fairy-sized outdoor container garden. $25 per pair IBG members, $30 nonmember pairs. Register: 343-8649, idahobotanicalgarden.org.

Bees and Blooms: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the College of Idaho, Caldwell, and Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise (transportation between sites not provided). Start the day at the College of Idaho learning about the different kinds of bees found in Idaho, their ecological roles, and how to recognize the different groups. At 11:30 a.m. take a break for lunch and then meet at the Idaho Botanical Garden to tour the grounds to focus on the floral features of bee-friendly plants, watch bee behaviors, and try your hand at identification. $40.
