Recipe: PASTA WEEK: SPAGHETTI SALAD

New Year's diet and exercise resolutions take effect in just one week. What better time than now to carb load? We'll celebrate with several pasta recipes. This one is an old family recipe that's served cold and makes for an excellent potluck offering.

INGREDIENTS

8 oz. spaghetti, broken in 3 equal lengths

Water

2 tablespoons oil

1 cucumber

1 bunch radishes

1 bunch green onions, including tops

3 or 4 ribs celery

3 hard-cooked eggs

For dressing:

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup Durkee salad and sandwich sauce

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons vinegar

2 tablespoons sugar

Celery seed, salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Boil spaghetti in water and oil until tender. Rinse in cold water; drain. Chop cucumber, radishes, green onions, celery and eggs. Combine dressing ingredients and mix with spaghetti, vegetables and eggs.
