With few options for food and drink in the Harris Ranch area, Steve Tracy saw an opportunity to do his community a service.
Even if you aren’t in the mood for coffee, his coffee shop probably has something up your alley, whether that be beer, wine or even breakfast burritos.
The Coffee Mill, a 2,100-square-foot locally owned coffee shop at 4979 E. Warm Springs Ave., opened July 15. The business is owned and run by Nampa native Steve Tracy, a former commercial lender who also owns the Ranch Market gas station next door.
The shop is open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

“There’s just no options out there. People just wanted a spot where they could come and get onto our free wi-fi, have a glass of wine,” Tracy said. “I think a coffee shop is perfect.”
The Coffee Mill features Caffe Vita coffee from Seattle and has a handful of available drinks, ranging from espresso to smoothies to the aforementioned beer and wine. Also included is a full kitchen that serves everything from sandwiches to food platters.
With its large outdoor patio, plenty of indoor seating and a late closing time, the cafe also appeals to the night crowd who might prefer a drink after work. Tracy estimates the indoor area can hold nearly 50 people while the patio can accommodate another 10 or 20.
“We’re a small business family. It’s literally just me, my wife and my family,” Tracy said. “We’re part (of the community).”
