Treasure Valley August Calendar: Fat tires, mountain music, Smokey Bear

AUG. 13: Three Island Crossing
AUG. 13: Three Island Crossing Idaho Statesman file

If it’s just getting too hot down here in the Valley, there are plenty of reasons to head to higher elevations, from the McCall Jazz Fest to the Emmylou Harris concert in Ketchum. With any luck, we’ll see some cooler temperatures by the time Bug Day at the Idaho Botanical Garden arrives or Salt-N-Pepa and Tone Loc, among others, step off the plane for the I Love the ’90s Tour, also at IBG. If your kids are starting to get restless from the long summer days, shake things up in Kuna at the Down N Dirty Youth Mud Obstacle Course.
