Ada County Pet of the Week: Zip the shepherd mix

Zip, 2, is a neutered male, black, brown and white, German shepherd and Australian cattle dog mix. At 75 pounds, Zip is a big boy with lots of “zip” and happy enthusiasm. When excited, he still acts like a puppy. He’d do well with an owner who will take his happy enthusiasm and help him become a well-mannered, yet still joyful. Zip thrives with the company of people, he loves to lean himself into your leg for scratches and pets. Although he will sit on command, Zip doesn’t appear to have much other training. He is a smart dog, treat-motivated and eager to learn more. He’d make a great companion for adults and children that are old enough to be sturdy enough for a larger dog.

Zip (#27666232) can be found in kennel 407 at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
