Idaho Humane Society pet of the week

Kenai, 5, is a neutered male, black and white, Labrador retriever mix. Kenai was found as a stray in Boise. Kenai is easily distracted in the shelter environment, but does seem to be a bit of a blank slate training-wise. He appears to be crate-trained and happily goes into a crate for a treat and settles down. But he will only sit with lots of encouragement and may have not been taught basic obedience commands. A basic obedience class with his new owner will speed bonding. At 54 pounds, he’s a moderate sized dog who will be a fun companion for a wide variety of outdoor activities. Kenai (#25222189) can be found in kennel 318 at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
