Sunday’s Child: Meet Auston

Auston
Auston

Auston is 16 years old and is an artistic and creative young man who likes to build things with Legos and enjoys building model cars. Someday he would like to be a mechanic and an artist so he can combine both of his talents.

Auston reports that he’s been ready for a family for a long time and sees himself in a happy, loving family. He likes the idea of living somewhere that has the conveniences of a city but feels like the country.

Auston wants people to know that he is very caring. He also wants families to know that (like a lot of teens) he can be very tired in the morning, but he has no trouble sleeping at night. He has a very big imagination, so a family that can help him to develop that in healthy ways would be good. His permanency team will want to make sure a family is open to facilitating important contacts for Auston. The family should be patient, nurturing, loving, affectionate, consistent, active and flexible. Ideally, the team is looking for a family that has an understanding of the effects of trauma and can start each day fresh.
