Ellen DeGeneres welcomes 10-year-old East Idahoan Tayt Andersen back to her show today to celebrate his successful heart-transplant surgery and recovery.

Tayt, who had surgery this summer in Salt Lake, was born with half of a heart and had been waiting years for a donor heart.

Ellen has featured Tayt and his mother, Chrissy Andersen, on her TV show since early 2013 and has provided encouragement, gifts and other assistance to Tayt.

Ellen and Tayt forged a special relationship, with the talk show host cheekily referring to Tayt as her only “boyfriend.” For his part, Tayt had been a longtime Ellen fan before he was even invited to appear on the show.
