Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers opened a new restaurant Tuesday  at 2864 E. State St. in Eagle.

That makes five Treasure Valley locations for the Wichita, Kan.-based franchise.

“Freddy’s offers cooked-to-order, quality food, served in a comfortable, family-friendly environment,” franchise owner Brad Williams said in a press release. “If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, we’ll get you in and out in no time, but also, Freddy’s is a place where you can push the tables together, relax, and have a nice meal with a large group of family and friends.

“A staple menu item is the Original Double,” he said. “We top two thinly-pressed patties with two slices of melting cheese, mustard, onion slices, and pickle planks, all on a toasted bun. Side options include our signature shoestring fries, onion rings, and also our new and popular fried pickles.”

Freddy’s already has restaurants in Boise (2143 Broadway Ave.), Meridian (3180 E. Lanark St.), Nampa (1305 N. Happy Valley Road) and Caldwell (5009 Cleveland Blvd.).

Statesman restaurant writer James Patrick Kelly wrote earlier this year that “Freddy’s is known for serving Midwest-inspired frozen custard (swirled with all kinds of sweet treats) and grilled-to-order ground steak burgers. The menu also has patty melts, grilled chicken sandwiches and Chicago-style hot dogs topped with mustard, chopped tomato, marinated sport peppers, onion, pickle and a dash of celery salt.”

The hours at Freddy’s restaurants are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
