Curtis Stigers brings his Jazz Festival closer to home for one night

Catch Curtis Stigers and Friends at the annual McCall Jazz Festival. The lineup includes singer Emily Braden, jazz duo The Sneider Brothers, drummer Paul Wells, bassist Cliff Schmitt, pianist Matthew Fries and others.

▪  Enjoy the music closer to home with this new event, “Jazz in the City,” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at The Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St., Boise. $35-$45. This event benefits Boise’s Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter.

▪  Head to McCall for “Jazz by the Lake,” a $100 a person soiree, from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Rupert’s at the Hotel McCall, 1101 N. 3rd St.

▪  Head to the hills for “Jazz on Jug Mountain” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Jug Mountain Ranch, 13834 Farm to Market Road, McCall. $35.

The events will benefit McCall’s Shepherd’s Home foster care, the McCall Education Foundation, Arts & Humanities Council, Music Society, Folklore Society and Alpine Playhouse. Online: CurtisStigers.com.
