Classic rockers Kiss return to Boise for concert

Invision/AP

Let’s pretend that the last time Kiss visited Idaho — in 2000 — it wasn’t called the “Farewell Tour.” Because Kiss is back — OK, half of Kiss: Gene Simmons, pictured, and Paul Stanley. Ace Frehley and Peter Criss have been replaced by Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. But if you’re not a purist, and you’re willing to accept that you keep aging while Kiss does not (makeup rules!), you can expect the pyro to blast and the anthems to flow: “Detroit Rock City,” “I Was Made For Loving You,” “Christine Sixteen,” “Rock & Roll All Night,” “Hard Luck Woman” ... and whatever songs former “American Idol” winner Caleb Johnson decides to unleash during his opening set.

7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, Taco Bell Arena, 1401 Bronco Lane, Boise. $28-$250. Ticketmaster. Opening: Caleb Johnson
