Infamous Stringdusters leave bluegrass competition in the dust

Jam-band sensibilities have powered the Infamous Stringdusters’ rise to the top of the acoustic heap. Known for instrumental detours in concert, the group takes mountain music to a rockin’ level. The quintet’s smooth, technically proficient attack makes it popular with bluegrass fans, country fans (the ’dusters were nominated for a country instrumental Grammy in 2011) and neo-hippies. Check out the band’s cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” on its 2015 covers EP, “Undercover.”

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, Knitting Factory, 416 S. 9th St., Boise. $15. TicketWeb.
