New York-based instrumental outfit The Budos Band describes itself as an Afro-soul group. Translation: These dudes are funky. With more than a decade of recordings under their belts, they have fine-tuned their approach into a Grand Canyon-deep groove. On The Budos Band’s newest album, “Burnt Offering,” it crafts a sonic stimulant that is simultaneously ominous and inviting. In concert at a dark, sweaty nightclub, expect this to border on a spiritual experience.
7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, Neurolux, 111 N. 11th St., Boise. $18. TicketWeb. $20 at the door.
