Depending on your opinion of modern-day country music, the idea of a Chase Rice song will either thrill you or cause you to hurl into the nearest trash receptacle. A card-carrying bro-country dude, Rice is a former contestant on “Survivor: Nicaragua.” But before you point to Rice’s physical gifts as his primary allure, be aware that he co-wrote Florida Georgia Line’s bro-country mega-smash, “Cruise.” Cliche-packed songwriting isn’t Rice’s only gift, though. As showcased on his own million-selling single, “Ready, Set, Roll,” Rice also appears to be a relatively competent rapper. Note: At press time, it remained unclear why Rice’s cap was in the rare forward position in this photograph.
