Boise guitars in hand, ZZ Top to play Nampa

Hey, that’s not a Bolin guitar! But don’t worry, Boise. When Billy Gibbons visits Nampa with ZZ Top, he’ll definitely bust out an ax or two crafted right here in town by luthier John Bolin. (Gibbons has played Bolin Guitars since 1984.) That “little ol’ band from Texas” is still blurring the lines between blues and rock — currently on its Grooves & Gravy Tour — so you’ll hear favorites ranging from “Jesus Just Left Chicago” to “Cheap Sunglasses.” By the way, what do you think Gibbons paid for those shades?

7 p.m. Sept. 16, Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater, 16200 Idaho Center Blvd., Nampa. $33.50, $41.50 and $51.50. ICTickets. Opening: Blackberry Smoke.
