Country-rockers Reckless Kelly party with a curfew at Morrison Center

Texas-based, Idaho-connected country boys Reckless Kelly have earned a reputation as a high-energy live act. But in recent years, the group has alternated sweaty club dates with sit-down theater concerts — e.g. this weekend’s performance at the Morrison Center. “We’re just getting older, and our fans are getting older with us,” multi-instrumentalist Cody Braun explains with a chuckle. “A lot of those people would rather come out at 8 o’clock and sit down and watch a show as opposed to go to a bar at 11 o’clock and do the rock thing.” If downing shots and dancing on tables are more up your alley, there’s be plenty of time later, anyway. “We’ll meet you at Pengilly’s after the show,” Braun quips, referring to the Downtown Boise bar. Better notify the baby sitter.

8 p.m. April 24, Morrison Center, 2201 Cesar Chavez Lane, Boise. $19.50, $30 and $37.50. Boise State Tickets. All tickets increase $3 day of show.
