With the crime-action film “Triple 9” still on screens around the country, Boise-grown actor Aaron Paul made a stop on NBC’s “Today” show to his next release “Eye in the Sky,” which opens Friday, March 11.

In it, he plays a drone pilot who clashes with his hardline commander (played by co-star, Dame Helen Mirren).

Paul hyped the film and the research he did for the movie on NBC’s “Today” with Al Roker, Willie Geist and Tamron Hall on Wednesday, March 10.

The Emmy winner also talked about his next TV project “The Path,” a Hulu- distributed series about a family at the center of a controversial cult.

The drama revolves around Paul’s character, a father who suffers a crisis of faith.

Paul co-stars with Michelle Monaghan, who starred in Idaho-filmmaker Michael Hoffman’s “The Best of Me.”

Monaghan visited Boise with Hoffman and the film for a fundraising premiere at The Egyptian Theatre in 2014. Small world.

Paul’s new TV show will begin airing later this month.
