Take Record Store Day for a spin in Boise on April 16

Launched in 2008, this celebration of indie-record-store culture has become an annual destination event worldwide. On Saturday, April 16, Boise’s Record Exchange, 1105 W. Idaho St., will offer more than 350 limited-edition pieces on vinyl, CD, cassette and more. (Releases include goodies from David Bowie, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa and other big names.) The weekend kicks off from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, at a listening party featuring Record Store Day exclusives. (Free beer, too!) Then the Record Exchange opens at 8 a.m. the next morning for Record Store Day proper (gift shop opens at 7:30 a.m. for the line) and stays open until 10 p.m. Bonus: Used CDs, vinyl, DVDs/Blu-rays and cassettes are 20 percent off April 15-17.
