1. HIT THE BASQUE BLOCK

It’s not Jaialdi. That’s bigger and happens every five years. But the San Inazio Basque Festival is still a helluva party. Cruise to Downtown Boise for fun Friday through Sunday. (Saturday night’s street dance, which goes until 1 a.m., will be a blast.) Get more details here.

2. BIKE (AND DRINK) AT BOGUS

Beat the heat. Head up to Bogus Basin, which will host a Music on the Mountain festival Saturday. Sponsored by 10 Barrel Brewing Co., it will feature live music, chairlift rides, a bike shuttle and demos.

3. PARTY IN THE NORTH END

O’Michael’s Pub & Grill, 2433 N. Bogus Basin Road, is hosting its second annual outdoor parking lot party Friday. Local blues and rock band the Hoochie Coochie Men will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. It’s basically like a backyard party (with full bar service).

4. COUNTRY UP IN CANYON COUNTY

The Western Idaho Fair is still weeks away, but the Canyon County Fair is in full swing. Something tells me Caldwell will be ready to party Saturday — with Joe Nichols headlining a free show.

5. LAUGH IT UP

Would you have the guts to hop on stage at Liquid Laughs in Boise and try to make people laugh? Five brave, talented amateurs will battle it out Saturday for $1,000. It’s the final round of the 2016 Boise’s Funniest Person competition.
