1. SPEND IT WITH MOM

It’s Mother’s Day weekend, so get your priorities straight, kid. Area wineries are going all-out with tastings and concerts. Restaurants are dishing up special menus and brunches. And, of course, there’s the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure happening Saturday.

2. GRAB A COMIC

Saturday is the 15th annual Free Comic Book Day, so you’ll be able to grab fun free stuff at area stores such as Captain Comics and Hastings. Speaking of superheroes, the big movie of the weekend is “Captain America: Civil War.”

3. HAVE A TACO AND A BEER

It’s taco-and-beer nirvana Saturday at Woodland Empire Alecraft. Can your stomach hang for the entire seven hours?

 

4. GO BIG

Discover the Dinosaurs, which uses animatronic and static beasts to teach and entertain, is back at Expo Idaho on Saturday and Sunday. It’s right in that, say, 6-year-old boy wheelhouse. That said, online reviews suggest it might be wise not to bring brontosaurus-sized expectations.
