1. PARTY IN PAINT

Zip your phone in a plastic baggie. National tour Uprising: The Paint Fight is returning to the Revolution Center on Friday. After the venue is draped in plastic, DJ Marcus Wing will unleash tunes while paint guns are handed out to fans and blacklights are cranked. Then the multicolor madness begins. [Tickets]

2. CELEBRATE NATURE

The inaugural Les Bois Film Festival is a partnership between the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley and Wild Lens, an Idaho-based film company that documents conservation efforts. You’ll see both Idaho and global scenes. Films begin at 7 p.m. March 5 at the Egyptian Theatre in Boise. [More]

3. DO INDIE MUSIC

On Saturday, The Brothers Comatose headline with guests The Easy Leaves at Neurolux. But just-added opener The Heligoats, aka singer-songwriter Chris Otepka, is another enticing reason to head Downtown. [Tickets]

4. LAUGH IT UP

Comedian Auggie Smith grew up in Billings, Mont. Then he went on to perform in places like Boise, Idaho. Um, wait. That isn’t sounding as impressive as I’d planned. Bottom line: The man is funny — competitively funny. He won both the San Francisco and Seattle Comedy Competitions in the same year. And he’s headlining Liquid Laughs this weekend. [Tickets]

5. GET BAPTIZED

You’ll find religion fast — as in galloping-drumbeat fast — Sunday at the Knitting Factory. The Reverend Horton Heat, aka singer-guitarist Jim Heath, has been converting followers since he formed his unique band in 1985. The Texas trio’s music is often called “psychobilly.” In layman’s terms, the Rev’s sonic sermon is a vastly entertaining blend of rockabilly, swing, punk, surf, country — and humor. [Tickets]
